Your adventure begins with a 4 mile cross country ride in our custom lifted 4x4 van and monster truck. We call this our “
Alaska Safari”. Keep your camera's ready as moose and other wildlife sightings are common. We travel 4 miles through the spectacular backcountry of Lake George National Natural Landmark. We will cross rivers, view salmon spawning areas, see beautiful fields of wildflowers and get your first views of the mighty Knik Glacier. You’re half way there. We arrive at the halfway point "Glacier Island" where the boats are waiting. Now, it’s time to jump in the boats and begin the 4 mile journey up river. You will experience the thrill of flying on the water in our fully enclosed airboat and extreme shallow Jet boat. We pass waterfalls, the occasional stray iceberg and keep an eye out for wildlife. As we approach the Knik Glacier you will feel the temperature begin to drop. You will be awestruck by the sheer size of the Knik Glacier. Get ready to "OOOH!" and "AAAH!" as your captain slows the boat and you find yourself floating among thousands of blue icebergs. You have arrived. This is the Alaska that you dreamed about. The ice takes on shades of blue that appear to be lit from within. We'll cruise around Icebergs for some great photo opportunities then pull ashore for a one hour visit to Glacier Camp. Here you can pull up a chair for a front row seat to one of nature's most impressive natural wonders. Enjoy a hot drink and a snack from the camp kitchen. Your guide will set up a spotting scope and search the surrounding mountains for wildlife. Watch Moose, Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Dall Sheep and MT Goats in the nearby meadows. You can take a hike around the iceberg filled lake. If you’re a rock hound, you will love the areas geology as Knik Glacier has tumbled up some truly impressive gems.

Photographers always want to know the best time for lighting on the glacier. As the midnight sun swings north the sunset will be at the end of the Knik Valley, perfectly lighting up the Knik Glacier in the alpenglow of Alaska’s midnight sun. Evening is also the best time to spot wildlife on the hot summer days. This tour departs at 5:30 PM and returns at 8:30 PM daily, June 1st to Sept. 1st.

New Knik Glacier Attractions

We would like to recommend and introduce our new friends Eric and Jenna Halfacre.

They are a new start up business offering hiking and pack-rafting tours to the Knik Glacier.

The new improved Knik River Lodge is open for 2016.

Our friends at Knik River lodge have been working hard all winter to finish the new main lodge and additional cabin rentals. Knik River Lodge offers some fine dining and the nicest cabins you will find in this area.

They offer daily helicopter flights to the Knik glacier and dog mushing on the glacier.

Our friends Steve and Melissa Have been working hard building the new Pioneer Peak Lodge.

A beautiful creek and waterfall boarders this property. The falls are a five minute hike from the lodge.

The lodge is in a beautiful peaceful setting next to the falls. Let the sound of the waterfall put you to sleep.

Nicely appointed sleeps up to 8 and very comfortable.
